Cluck

Earlier this week, the host where I store web images and archives was hit by a Denial of Service attack. It blocked access to my files for about 12 hours. Yay. Fortunately, download traffic has been light and I'm still preparing new material.

True, warrior~poet is oddly arranged. Most content is in one place for its bandwidth and server space. For accessibility and stability, the webpages are elsewhere. I'd rather keep everything together but the division does have an up side. During things like the DoS attack, I can at least alert visitors to the problem instead of leaving them unable to see my site at all.

Anyway, I've been designing egg after egg after egg in my free time until the virtual chickens ran dry. Including the children's graphics, I have 12 dozen Easter/vernal equinox eggs, six "pryde" eggs, and one secret egg. I honestly didn't think I would make so many!

I made a graphic of the eggs for our children, which they printed for their bulletin boards. They love 'em! They were a bit confused until I explained that "gross" can mean "144" instead of "disgusting." One of the youngest goes to a playgroup where they take turns celebrating holidays of their own invention and he proclaimed that today will be Jamie Eggy Day.

I sent the sample graphic to a chat friend. "OMG," he typed. "The shading. It's amazing. [My partner] is going to freak when he sees those."

And I haven't even made them into icons yet!  :D
