A week of days

Last week began with an interesting little job for an animator who wants to publish his characters in various icon formats. After seeing my work and chatting briefly, he hired me on the spot. He's happy with the first icons I sent and "very appreciative of [my] work and professionalism." We even discussed future icons of characters from his comic books.

The work doesn't include graphic design on my part, but the technical communicator in me enjoys making a contribution to the artist's visibility. I also appreciate that I'm trusted to treat his creations professionally.

Otherwise, I took advantage of the light workload to add projects to my portfolio and identify recent changes.

Scheldes VI l icons for Mac OS X Download: folder | iContainer

I ended the week with a set of Scheldes VI icons. This installment has the letter L and monograms la through lz. More sets are on the Scheldes page.

Way back when, I designed 13 sets of these two-letter monograms to publish when I was otherwise occupied. I thought sure I'd have the other 13 ready by the time I posted them all, but this is the last of that cache and I haven't tackled E G I J M P Q R U V W X or Y.

Personally, I think that's not such a bad thing. I'd much rather have tons of icon ideas and limited design time than the other way around. At the very least, I know what I can work on this week.
